Terminology get to grips with the words used to describe canoeing and kayaking
Canoeing - the vessel is usually open topped, the paddler sits, stands or usually kneels and uses a single ended paddle. Kayaking - the vessel is usually decked, enclosing the craft and the paddler sits with legs out-stretched in front and uses a double-ended paddle.
