Hatton v Mayweather Fight
December 8, 2007 - MGM Grand Hotel Garden Arena - Las Vegas, NVThe Hatton-Mayweather fight this coming December is for the status of being considered the number one Welterweight - upper weight limit of 147 pounds (66.1 kilograms - elite fighter of the World. This is the last in a long line of championship fights going back to 1914, when Matt Wells took the prize under WBC Rules. The two fighters. Ricky Hatton (43/0/31) and Floyd Mayweather (38/0/24) will go toe-to-toe in a super-fight dubbed, "The Brawl For It All." Hatton, who grew up a brawler on the streets of Manchester may be the biggest thing to hit the US from the UK since David Beckham landed a spot with the LA Galaxy MLS soccer club. Fight fans know how tough and talented Hatton is but he's yet to have much exposure on US soil. Pretty Boy Floyd has an impressive record, has been dubbed the best pound-for-pound boxer in the sport and will have the opportunity to put a lot of doubts to rest if he can best Hatton in this fight. Two backgrounds will clash - Hatton, with his tough 'talk with your fist' approach, will take it to Vegas against Floyd's, trash-talking flashy attitude in a bout that's more about bragging rights than any title that's on the line.
