International Organisations

There are two organisations arranging tournaments at the highest level, the World Darts Federation and the Professional Darts Corporation

World Darts Federation  formed in 1976, by representatives of fifteen (15) nations. Membership is open to the official National organizing body for Darts in all nations.   Incorporated in the USA, as a world-wide federation of darts bodies, the WDF encourages the promotion of the Sport of Darts among and between those bodies, in an effort to gain international recognition for Darts as a major Sport;   Calendars, news, results, rankings, forum. Australia	Commercial Sites
Darts in Australia is controlled by the Darts Federation Australia . Each of the Australian States has a body that reports to DFA so that the sport is well organised and controlled, with uniform standards. There are abundant competitions for players of State and National levels and the Junior Development Programme is strong. It is estimated that there are in excess of 175,00 people that play darts on a weekly basis. At the top, professional level, the sports is split along the lines of the International darts scene, with American Darts Organization (ADO) in partnership with the World Darts Federation (WDF) and the American Dart Association (ADA) in partnership with the Professional Dart Corporation, LTD (PDC)  ADA and ADO  News and Information  Soft-tip darts  Around the States

The American Darts Organization (ADO) the #1 darts organization on the United States. They run a wide range of events  throughout the USA with a high prize stakes. Standings for Men and Women. Champions; playoff schedules. The  major events are:     Desert Darts  - an ADO sanctioned steel tip dart league in Phoenix Arizona that meets on Wednesday nights for membership competition team play; league details, state qualifiers,  useful resources       USADarts - a new ADO sanctioned club (as of Aug. 2004) representing shooters within the ADO Region V-3 (New Jersey, New York City, Eastern Pennsylvania), with about 75 shooters using the USA Dart Club name for ADO tournaments.  They currently have 5 men ranked in the top 90 in the country and  Nikki Passenti is currently 8th among the women shooter in the US     The American Dart Association (ADA) founded in 1991, operates 2 types of nationwide dart leagues - a unique handicap system allowing members, regardless of their ability, to compete equally and a traditional “scratch”, open league format. So far we have learned that the IDA President was Allan R Hollender or Hollenden. Their patch was a dart board in white on a black background ringed in red with red IDA through the center of the board. Around the outside of the patch was Member International Darting Association. The membership card was brown with the same info and dart board in the center with the member no, name address and IDA President's signature.
