International Petanque is controlled by International Federation of P鴡nque and Proven硬 Game (
FIPJP) which was created in 1958. It now has around 600 000 licensed players in 52
national federations. The Federations with websites in English are

The Pé´¡nque
World Championships started in Spa (Belgium) 1959. There is an open class, a Juniors class and a Ladies class. France has won the championships more times than any other country. Other International championships are the European Championship and Cup, the Nordic Championship and the North Sea Tournament.
