About
Wadoryu Karate
Wadoryu Karate is one of the four major styles of Karate practised in the world today. A traditional Japanese style of Karate founded in 1934 by Hironori Otsuka. It is a combination of Okinawan Karate and Jujitsu and is primarily a defensive style, using evasion as opposed to direct blocking of an attack, and counter attacks using an opponents oncoming energy. From Graham Chuck Renshi
Shotokan Karate
One of the 4 major schools of Karate in Japan. originated in Japan, founded by Gichin Funakoshi (1867-1957). It is best characterised by its long and deep stances and its use of more linear movements., with little of the circular movements found in Okinawan styles of karate, nor does it have the body conditioning and supplementary training exercises typical for Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate.
